The Staff Engineer Payments role is responsible for driving and setting the standards for the development of high-quality software solutions. You will work collaboratively in an agile environment participating in the design development testing and deployment of applications. This role involves taking ownership and extending the payments domain using LLM to produce clean / efficient code engaging in code reviews and continuously improving development practices. You will also support the team in maintaining technical standards and delivering reliable software aligned with OFX guidelines.
This role works closely with colleagues in various regions and would require variability in start and finish times to support a global team or to meet business needs with advance notice and fair rotation.
What youll do:
- Collaborate with other Staff engineers tech leads and engineering managers to deliver quality code and participate in code reviews
- Use an LLM to Write efficient maintainable code that adheres to OFX coding standards and industry best practices
- Contribute to a collaborative and inclusive team environment
- Identify and help address areas of technical debt and opportunities for refactoring
- Support agile team activities including deployments QA and level 3 support when needed
- Drive solution design discussions and contribute to proof-of-concept initiatives
- Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders
Qualifications :
What you bring
- 10-20 years of experience in commercial software development
- Significant full stack engineering experience with a SaaS Platform
- Strong knowledge of web technologies including HTML/CSS
- Strong knowledge in modern JavaScript frameworks especially TypeScript and
- Experience working with AWS environments ( CDK)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies such as TDD Kanban and Shift Left
- Experience with AWS services including CDK Lambdas API Gateway DynamoDB and EventBridge
- Ability to write scalable reusable UI components with appropriate testing
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Experience with unit testing and working with acceptance criteria frameworks
- Understanding of application architectures and service-oriented design
- Experience working with RESTful APIs
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub for source control
Desirable Experience
- Experience with SaaS Payment
- Exposure to container technologies like Docker
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and configuration management
- Experience working with Design Language Systems
