Job Summary
Position Overview
Now hiring CDL-A drivers for a local dedicated grocery account based in York PA. This position offers daily home time steady freight and consistent routes delivering to grocery stores across the region.
Drivers will run structured local routes with predictable schedules and strong weekly earning potential.
Route & Freight Details
- Local deliveries within a 250-mile radius of York PA
- Typical delivery range: 75100 miles from distribution center
- Deliveries to grocery stores and supermarkets
- Freight includes dry and refrigerated grocery products
- Equipment: refrigerated trailers and dry vans
- Preloaded trailers
- Palletized freight
- Average 2 stops per load
- Drivers typically run:
- 2 shorter loads per day or
- 1 longer route per day
- 90% drop & hook on backhauls
- 20% drop & hook on deliveries
- Occasional tailgating assistance at stores
- Electric pallet jacks available at delivery locations
Schedule
- Tuesday Saturday
- Start time: 4:00 PM
- Home daily
- 5-day work week
- Optional 6th day for extra income
- Drivers work most scheduled holidays (except major closures)
Pay & Compensation
- Avg Weekly Pay: $1540$1730
- Avg Annual Pay: $80000 $83000
Pay Structure:
- $0.64 CPM
- $70 daily salary
Additional Pay:
- Detention: $150/week average
- $20/hour safety training pay
- $25 rail shuttle pay
Equipment & Work Setup
- Automatic day cab trucks
- Assigned tractors (may occasionally share with opposite shift)
- Trucks cannot be taken home
- Must have reliable transportation to terminal
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum 3 months of tractor-trailer experience required
- Must live within commuting distance of York PA (17406)
- Must be able to handle occasional palletized freight assistance
- Must be able to work evenings weekends and scheduled holidays
