Position Overview
Now hiring CDL-A drivers for a local intermodal position based in Toledo OH. This role offers consistent freight daily home time and a structured weekend wrap schedule with steady miles and strong earning potential.
Drivers will operate within a regional radius while returning home daily.
Route & Freight Details
- Local runs within a 250-mile radius of Toledo OH
- Primary operations through:
- Toledo rail yard
- North Baltimore OH rail yard
- Additional lanes may include:
- Cleveland Columbus Cincinnati
- Michigan
- Occasional Canada loads
- Hauling 53 intermodal containers
- 100% no-touch freight
- Freight includes general commodities and food-grade products
- Approximately 4050% pork-related freight
- Average 1520 drop & hook moves per week
Schedule
- Thursday Monday
- Start Time: 5:00 PM
- Home daily
- Typical workday: 1012 hours (avg 10 hours)
- Evening/night driving required
- Weekend-heavy schedule
Pay & Compensation
- Avg Weekly Pay: $1420$1600
- Avg Annual Pay: $74000 $83000 (recent avg $76K)
Mileage Pay:
- $0.40 $0.50 CPM
Additional Pay:
- $38 drop & hook per stop
- $51 live load/unload per stop
- $25 hazmat load pay
- $20/hour rail delay or breakdown pay
- $20/hour training pay (up to 2 weeks)
Equipment & Work Setup
- 53 intermodal containers
- Slip seat operation required
- No passengers or pets allowed
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A license
- Minimum 3 months of tractor-trailer experience required
- Must be able to obtain:
- Hazmat endorsement within 60 days (reimbursed)
- Tanker endorsement within 60 days (reimbursed)
- Must be willing to obtain:
- Passport or enhanced license (for occasional Canada loads)
- Must be able to work evenings weekends and extended shifts
