Part-time Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Business and Economics(Ref. 534735)((to commence as soon as possible for 6 months with possibility of renewal)
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a closely related field
- Strong proficiency in Python and Django backend development
- Experience with Django REST Framework and relational databases (MySQL or PostgreSQL)
- Hands-on experience deploying applications on AWS and/or Alibaba Cloud
- Familiarity with Cloudflare CI/CD pipelines and/or server operations
- Proficiency in Linux system administration and operations
- Understanding of asynchronous task processing using Celery Redis
- Experience with Docker for containerized deployment
- Familiarity with Nginx and Gunicorn configuration
Preferred / Bonus Qualifications
- Full-stack development experience
- Automated testing (unit/integration)
- DevOps practices and/or server monitoring
- Experience integrating OpenAI APIs or similar LLMs
- Knowledge of Django Channels (WebSockets)
- Email service integration (e.g. SendGrid)
- Internationalization (i18n) and localization development
- Writing technical documentation (e.g. READMEs API docs)
- Prior collaboration with frontend engineers
Candidates with relevant internship experience prior research assistant roles or substantial personal/academic projects are strongly preferred.
