Job Duties:

The Social Work program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh invites applications for a full-time academic-year tenure-track Assistant Professor position. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join a CSWE-accredited program within the School of Nursing and Health Professions. Our school prepares students to lead and serve in todays rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. With a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice interprofessional collaboration and hands-on training we foster a holistic approach to care that empowers graduates to make a lasting impact in diverse clinical and community settings.

The successful candidate will primarily teach in the Master of Social Work programs delivering live and hybrid courses. Teaching responsibilities will include core curriculum areas such as micro and macro practice ethics diversity policy research methods and field addition to teaching the faculty member will actively contribute to departmental and university service engage in professional service to the field of social work and pursue scholarly activities including publishing and seeking internal and external funding.

The start date for this academic year position will be August of 2026.

Required Qualifications:

  • An earned Doctorate in Social Work or a related field; applicants who will complete their doctorate by start date will be considered

  • An MSW degree with a minimum of two years of post-MSW social work practice experience

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver undergraduate and/or graduate instruction with qualifications to teach in at least two of the following subjects: social work micro/macro practice policy ethics diversity human behavior in the social environment or research methods.

  • Evidence of an active research and scholarly activity such as publications presentations or works-in-progress with a plan for continued scholarly productivity including pursuing internal and external funding opportunities.

  • Experience building productive relationships communicating effectively and actively contributing to a cohesive and collaborative team environment.

  • Clinical practice experience and prior experience teaching clinical practice courses

  • Qualified for a clinical license in Wisconsin
