BIM Engineer

Job Summary:

Allied Steel Buildings Allied Engineering Colombia is seeking a skilled BIM Engineer to join our engineering team in Bucaramanga Santander. This role is ideal for a motivated engineer with experience in BIM modeling structural detailing and manufacturing engineering processes. The successful candidate will work closely with mechanical engineers electrical engineers and other engineering professionals to deliver accurate 3D models and fabrication-ready documentation for pre-engineered metal building projects.

As a BIM Engineer you will play a key role in bridging engineering design and fabrication by producing high-quality models coordinating with project teams and ensuring all engineering and manufacturing requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize BIM software specifically Tekla Structures to create detailed 3D models for metal structures.
  

• Collaborate with mechanical engineers electrical engineers manufacturing engineers and other engineering team members to develop accurate construction and fabrication drawings.
  

• Ensure all engineering outputs comply with industry standards project specifications and best practices.
  

• Participate in project coordination meetings providing input from the engineering and BIM perspectives.
  

• Review and validate fabrication models to support manufacturing and on-site construction activities.
  

• Support design verification clash detection and BIM coordination across multiple disciplines including mechanical electrical and structural engineering.
  

• Assist in maintaining detailed engineering documentation and BIM records for project tracking and quality assurance.
  

• Work closely with project managers and manufacturing engineers to ensure seamless transition from design to fabrication.
  

• Mentor junior engineers in BIM modeling detailing and engineering best practices.
  

• Continuously improve BIM workflows and engineering processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in detailing and fabrication.
  

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical Electrical Civil or Structural) or a related technical field.
  

• Proven experience working with BIM software specifically Tekla Structures.
  

• Strong understanding of structural design principles fabrication processes and construction detailing.
  

• Experience coordinating with mechanical engineers electrical engineers and manufacturing engineers on multidisciplinary projects.
  

• Excellent communication collaboration and teamwork skills.
  

• Ability to manage multiple engineering projects prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills in BIM modeling and engineering workflows.
