Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Finance Administrator Accounts and Programme Support to join the Kāpuhipuhi Wellington Uni-Professional team on a 6-month fixed-term part-time basis. This role is based in Wellington and offers a collaborative supportive team environment with some flexibility in working arrangements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day financial administration support across accounts payable and receivable including processing transactions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Support scholarship and externally funded programme financial administration including tracking payments and reconciling financial activity.
  • Assist with financial reconciliations reporting preparation and maintaining supporting documentation.
  • Maintain finance systems records and documentation to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Contribute to team support and continuity of finance operations in a small agile organisation.

You will be a motivated detail-oriented finance administrator who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and delivering high-quality support.

Key requirements:

  • Relevant qualification in accounting finance bookkeeping or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in finance administration or accounts support including accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial data.
  • Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables VLOOKUP IF functions) and experience using finance systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive organised approach with the ability to manage workload and meet deadlines.
