Downer Professional Services comprises of three business units our Technical Advisory and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer which partners with CASG and NSSG as a major service provider to Defence. Together we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for clients across Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for anILS Lead ideally based in Canberra however would look at individuals that are located remotely to work on a major Space acquisition project.
What Youll Do
This role offers a broad scope with key role responsibilities including:
Contribute to Major Project Acquisition activities including preGate project phases and preparation for key Defence governance milestones.
Conduct Approaches to Industry including Requests for Information and Requests for Tender and support Approaches to Government through Investment Committee preparation and Gate Reviews.
Develop and review Gate 1 and Gate 2 documentation such as Cabinet Submissions Project Execution Strategies Capability Definition Documents and associated supporting material.
Lead Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities including development of the Integrated Logistics Support Concept and Integrated Logistics Support Plan assessment of Fundamental Inputs to Capability workshops with Configuration Management and support to contract drafting.
Provide onthejob training and mentoring to junior ILS staff.
What Youll Bring
Strong background in major Defence project environments including experience working within frameworks equivalent to CASG Acquisition Category 1 (ACAT 1).
Demonstrated capability in industry engagement processes (RFI RFT) and experience contributing to government decisionmaking processes.
Proven ability to prepare and qualityreview complex Gate documentation for senior Defence committees.
Deep understanding of ILS principles deliverables and Defence sustainment requirements including FIC assessments and configuration management interaction.
A collaborative mindset with the ability to mentor guide and uplift less experienced logistics personnel; experience in the space domain is advantageous but not essential.
Due to the nature of the work you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimumNegative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the some instances compliance withInternational Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
