Job Description:
Job Duties:
1. Supporting and coordinating the work and strategic planning of the commission and its standing committees/working groups including development and coordination of initiatives to promote equal access to justice across Nebraska.
2. Organizing and attending meetings of the commission and all standing committees/working groups including planning and executing all aspects of meeting management selecting sites or coordinating conference calls preparing agendas inviting and coordinating presenters coordinating technical needs developing materials taking minutes and executing action items.
3. Maintaining a current inventory of all projects and initiatives of the commission and its standing committees/working groups.
4. Identifying grant and funding opportunities for commission initiatives and providing technical assistance related to grant writing and compliance.
5. Overseeing development and content creation promoting the work done by Access to Justice Commission and standing committees/working groups.
6. Maintaining and assisting in recruitment to fill vacancies of commission and standing committee/working groups.
7. Facilitating quarterly reporting by the standing committees and working groups to the commission and facilitating annual reporting by the commission to the Nebraska Supreme Court.
8. Advancing the mission of the Access to Justice Commission by actively engaging the courts the bar legal service organizations legal education providers the legal and public libraries and the community and collaborating with other states Access to Justice Commissions and the American Bar Associations Access to Justice staff.
9. Presenting to judicial legal and community organizations regarding resources and initiatives of the Access to Justice Commission.

Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree from a four-year college or university in social/behavioral sciences criminal justice education human services administration public administration or related areas plus two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in program management.
Preferred Qualifications
Masters or Juris Doctorate degree with five years experience supervising multiple programs and projects.
All educational credits must be granted from an accredited institution approved by the U.S. Dept. of Education.

Minimum Starting salary: $75746.52
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Considerable knowledge of the principles of effective program management. Knowledge of federal and state government processes and pertinent laws and policies. Ability to manage multiple projects. Knowledge and skill in strategic planning processes the principles of continuous quality improvement basic budgeting and cost accounting processes and basic ability to analyze data. Knowledge of Nebraskas criminal juvenile and civil justice systems as well as national trends. Demonstrated ability to lead other professionals and support staff. Demonstrated ability to communicate in writing verbally and to develop quality deliverables including writing of policies procedures and protocols. Ability to work collaboratively diplomatically and skillfully with internal and external stakeholders. Ability to organize and manage multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements
Some travel is required. Sitting behind a computer for extended periods of time. Lifting a maximum of 50 pounds. May be requested to meet tight deadlines.
