About the Unit

Pediatric neurosurgery at Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital focuses on care that emphasizes people not diseases. We are the only pediatric neurosurgery program in the region. From congenital neurological conditions to traumatic injury or illness taking care of children and families is our mission and our priority. Our pediatric neurosurgery team has brought new capabilities and advanced procedures to West Michigan by focusing on minimally invasive procedures because of their great benefit to the patient including shorter hospital stays faster recovery times smaller incisions less trauma and fewer side effects. The team participates in multi-disciplinary clinics including Epilepsy surgery Spina Bifida and a spasticity program through a collaborative partnership with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.

About Outpatient Clinics

Corewell Health operates over 300 outpatient clinics across Michigan bringing a multitude of care options to the communities that we serve. There are over 40 different types of primary care and specialty practices which allows those who work in these clinics the opportunity to learn and explore various interests or to specialize in one area.

Scope of work

As a Nurse with Corewell Health providing top-notch patient care is paramount. Youll use your critical thinking skills and the nursing process to assess diagnose plan implement and evaluate patient care. Youll be responsible for upholding the standards of nursing excellence as described by the ANA including the code of ethics. Youll be a vital member of our team and strive to achieve the best possible outcomes making a real difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

Qualifications

  • Required Associates Degree Nursing

  • Preferred Bachelors Degree Nursing

  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - STATEMI State of Michigan Upon Hire Required

  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 90 Days Required or CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 90 Days Required

  • One year of nursing experience Preferred
