Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata Ahupae - Administrator to join Te Kura Waihanga - School of Architecture on a permanent full-time basis. This is a hands on role that plays a key part in supporting the smooth delivery of academic programmes through high quality administrative and operational support. Working closely with students academic staff and stakeholders you will contribute to a positive and responsive School environment. This position is based onsite and is not suitable for remote or hybrid working arrangements.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing professional administrative and operational support across the school including frontline committee and meeting support.
  • Supporting the delivery of courses and programmes through accurate timely and responsive administration.
  • Assisting with communications and stakeholder engagement activities.
  • Contributing flexibly to a collaborative administration team to ensure continuity of services across the School and Faculty.

Key requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience providing high-quality administrative and front-line support in a complex service-focused environment preferably within a tertiary education or similarly large organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks prioritise effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Confidence using digital systems and technologies relevant to administrative roles with the ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly professionally and appropriately with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A strong client-focused approach delivering responsive courteous and professional service.
  • A commitment to work in ways that promote the Treaty of Waitangi.
