Your future duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities
.Design & Development Architect and implement scalable Elasticsearch clusters (index design mappings analyzers synonyms aggregations). Build and maintain Java services integrating with Elasticsearch (REST High Level Client / new Java API client). Develop near real-time ingestion pipelines (Logstash / Beats / Kafka / custom ETL).
. Relevance & Features Implement query DSL compound queries rescoring function score and aggregations. Relevance tuning (BM25 analyzers boosts synonyms stemming stop words). Implement autocomplete typo-tolerance (fuzziness) highlighting and faceted search.
. Performance & Reliability Optimize indexing/search performance (routing sharding refresh intervals segment merging). Capacity planning scaling and cluster administration (snapshots ILM hot-warm-cold architecture). Monitor health with Elasticsearch APIs Prometheus/Grafana Kibana and APM. Ensure resiliency zero-downtime deployments and disaster recovery.
. Quality & Security Write clean well-tested code (JUnit/Testcontainers/Mock frameworks). Implement security (TLS RBAC API keys field/document-level security). Partner with SRE/DevOps for CI/CD infrastructure-as-code and cloud deployments.

Required Qualifications
.56 years total experience; 3 years hands-on with Elasticsearch in production.
. Strong Java (Java 8) collections/concurrency and HTTP/REST.
. Proficient with Elasticsearch query DSL mappings analyzers aggregations and the Java client.
. Experience with index lifecycle management (ILM) snapshots/restore cluster tuning.
. Data pipeline experience with Logstash / Beats / Kafka or custom ingestion.
. Solid understanding of distributed systems concepts (sharding replication consistency).
. Hands-on with Docker Git build tools (Maven/Gradle) and CI/CD.
. Strong debugging skills and performance profiling.

Nice-to-Have

. Spring Boot microservices reactive patterns (WebFlux) and API gateways.
. Cloud-managed search (e.g. Amazon OpenSearch Service Elastic Cloud).
. Kibana dashboards/visualizations; Prometheus/Grafana for metrics.
. Security: Shield/X-Pack SSO/OIDC integration.
. Experience with vector search semantic search (kNN ANN) and RAG patterns.
. Exposure to Python for data tooling or relevance experiments.
. Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL (Postgres Redis Cassandra) for complementary data needs.
