Job Description:
Role Overview
The SME will be responsible for architecting implementing managing and optimizing Cisco IronPort (Cisco Secure Email / ESA) solutions ensuring robust email security posture threat prevention policy governance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities / Skill Requirements
Deep expertise in Cisco IronPort / Cisco Secure Email (ESA) architecture configuration and administration.
Strong hands-on experience with email filtering policies content filters DLP anti-spam anti-virus and anti-phishing configurations.
Manage and optimize mail flow SMTP routing message tracking and troubleshooting email delivery issues.
Implement email threat defense mechanisms including URL filtering AMP reputation-based filtering and outbreak filters.
Define review and enforce security policies aligned to organizational and compliance requirements.
Perform regular health checks capacity planning upgrades and patch management for IronPort appliances or virtual instances.
Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation for email security incidents and false positives/negatives.
Integrate IronPort with SIEM directory services (LDAP/AD) and other security tools for monitoring and reporting.
Create and maintain SOPs runbooks policies and technical documentation.
Provide SME-level support for complex incidents escalations and high-severity troubleshooting.
Monitor emerging email threats and recommend enhancements to strengthen security controls.
Conduct periodic audits compliance reviews and reporting on email security posture.
Support migration projects (on-prem to cloud hybrid email or IronPort platform upgrades).
Collaborate with Security Network Messaging and Compliance teams to deliver end-to-end secure email operations.
Mentor junior engineers and provide knowledge transfer sessions as needed.
