About the role
The ERP Development Team Lead is accountable for technical leadership governance and delivery of SAP developments across the SAP S/4HANA ecosystem.
The role leads and coordinates the DSC ERP Development Team to design build test and deploy highquality secure and sustainable solutions that support business operations while protecting core system integrity.
The DSC ERP Development Lead ensures development activities align with approved standards lifecycle processes and change governance enabling reliable delivery while minimising risk to system stability and compliance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Leads the development stream of the S/4HANA system including core system developments on S/4HANA and custom developments on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP).
- Is responsible for integrity of the custom developments including Workflows Reports Interfaces Conversions Enhancements and Forms (WRICEF) and BTP Applications.
- Perform periodic quality assessments to ensure compliance to standards processes and alignment with the relevant strategies.
- Coordinates and manages development activities to ensure successful deployment to production.
- Ensure system stability by ensuring the development lifecycle is followed and functional changes are tested effectively to ensure minimal business disruption.
- Ensures compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley act and safeguards the business from adverse findings and weaknesses through documented controls.
- Is responsible for Change Management of custom developments and represents the ERP development team at the Change Advisory Board.
- Is responsible for accurate development lifecycle estimates and resourcing and provides input to the Digital budget process for future development activities.
- Define recommended tools coding standards development principals and associated artefacts to ensure adherence to clean core standards.
Skills & Experience
- 8 years of experience in providing technical programming support for SAP and supporting systems.
- Experience in delivery of complex developments using SAP S/4HANA ABAP and BTP platforms (CAP and RAP) that support SAP functional processes and data flows.
- Experience using source control platforms (e.g. GitHub or equivalent) to manage code in accordance with approved development and security standards.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Ability to lead a small team work collaboratively and build strong relationships within a cross-functional team.
- Strong business acumen across ERP functions (Finance Contracts & Procurement Logistics and Asset Management)
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in the Development Lead role.
- Bachelors degree in Business Systems Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
