We are expanding our Life Sciences research vertical focused on:

identifying emerging biological technologies and translating them into investable insights and capital raising mandates

This role sits at the intersection of life sciences investing and capital markets. Translating complex biology into actionable investment insight and supporting capital formation across emerging healthcare companies.

Position Overview

We are hiring an additional Life Sciences Analyst to support institutional-grade research and idea generation.

The role focuses on:

• Identifying high-impact themes in life sciences
• Mapping scientific innovation commercial opportunity investable companies
• Contributing to initiation research ongoing research updates and investment thesis

This is a remote role.

Key Responsibilities

Research & Coverage

• Identify uncover and track new emerging themes across life sciences

• Initiate and maintain research coverage on ASX-listed emerging life sciences companies

• Maintain a coverage universe of companies including pipelines trial stages catalysts and risks and produce regular research updates

• Monitor news flow trial data and announcements highlighting stock-impacting developments via email

• Produce regular high-quality written outputs including breaking down company announcements and delivering the update in a fast timely manner

• Contribute to the firms weekly research piece

Scientific Analysis & Investment Insights

• Analyse company fundamentals across ASX and global peers including:

  • Products pipelines and technologies

  • Clinical stage and probability of success

  • Key risks and upcoming catalysts

• Interpret and synthesise scientific and medical literature trial data and presentations

• Translate complex biology into clear structured investable insights

• Connect: Science commercial potential capital markets relevance

• Map global innovation trends to ASX-listed or investable opportunities

Industry Engagement & Information Gathering

• Attend company investor calls presentations and industry webinars

• Proactively source high-quality differentiated information sources

• Conduct interviews and discussions with:

  • Industry experts

  • Scientists and clinicians

• Build a strong understanding of market dynamics demand drivers and future trends

Commercial Integration

• Support the Equity Capital Markets (ECM) team in preparing investor materials and bid documents. Assist in drafting term sheets IMs Presentations and translating complex science into a clear investable narrative.

• Support the ECM / Business Development team by:

  • Identifying capital raising opportunities

  • Building relationships with board members and leaderships teams of covered companies through research

• Assist the Institutional and HNW investor client services team by:

  • Generating investor interest and passing through leads

  • Supporting outreach with high-quality research insights

• Interact with sales trading and external clients contributing to idea flow and discussions

Experience & Skills

• Academic background in a life sciences discipline (e.g. biology biomedical science pharmacology or related)

• Strong ability to read interpret and analyse scientific and medical research

• Demonstrated interest in financial markets investing and capital markets

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• High attention to detail with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple workstreams

• Strong intellectual curiosity and desire to develop differentiated insights

• Collaborative mindset with a team-first attitude

Experience

• 1-4 years (research lab pharma or healthcare exposure)
• 1-4 years of experience in biotech/healthcare equity research investment banking or consulting.
• More than 4 years experience and currently in an existing role will be considered highly

Summary

We are looking for a scientifically literate commercially aware thinker who can identify where life sciences is going and which companies will capture value. Be able to concisely communicate this in written form to institutional and HNW investors.
