Job Summary
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of HSE policies procedures and management systems in line with industry best practices and regulatory standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments safety audits inspections and environmental impact assessments across operational sites.
- Monitor workplace activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Drive incident prevention initiatives and ensure proper investigation reporting and closure of all incidents near misses and unsafe acts.
- Monitor workplace conditions and ensure prompt corrective actions are taken to mitigate identified hazards.
- Develop and deliver HSE training programs to employees and contractors to enhance safety awareness and compliance
- Maintain accurate HSE records reports and documentation including regulatory submissions where required.
- Support environmental management activities including waste disposal emissions monitoring and pollution control measures.
- Support emergency preparedness and response plans including drills and simulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a strong safety culture within the organization.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science Engineering Occupational Health & Safety or related field.
- Minimum of 46 years relevant HSE experience preferably within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Professional HSE certification (e.g. NEBOSH IOSH ISO 45001 Lead Auditor) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian HSE regulations and international standards.
- Proven experience in implementing HSE management systems.
