The Role in a Nutshell

Are you a CS graduate who loves coding but doesnt want to be stuck solving Jira tickets all day

At Talkdesk a Forward Deployed Engineer is the bridge between our cutting-edge AI technology and the worlds biggest clients. You arent just a developer; you are a technical problem solver.

What will you do

  • Prompt Engineering as Code: Your main programming language will often be natural language. Youll spend most of your time crafting prompts and logic to make our AI agents smarter and more effective.
  • Build & Prototype: Use Agentic AI to build functional solutions and that wow our current and future customers.
  • Influence the Product: You are the voice from the field. Youll feed client insights directly back to Engineering and Product teams. This role is the perfect launchpad for a future career in Product Management or Technical Leadership.
  • Real Impact: The solutions you hack together today could close a major deal next week.

Who are we looking for

We are looking for Masters students or recent graduates from DEI/FCTUC with a Builder mindset.

Essentials:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science (or similar).
  • Coding Skills: Comfortable with JavaScript/TypeScript or Python.
  • AI Curiosity: You dont need to be an expert but you must be genuinely interested in LLMs RAG and how AI is reshaping software.
  • Communication: Can you explain technical concepts to non-technical people
  • Fluent English.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Primarily office-environment work extended periods of sitting or standing computer-based work. Limited lifting and equipment usage limited to computer-related equipment (keyboards mouse etc.)
