The Salvation Army (Salvos) is one of Australias largest providers of alcohol and other drug (AOD) programs including assessment counselling day rehabilitation care & recovery coordination overdose prevention initiatives family reunification support and residential rehabilitation. Our services provide holistic personcentred and traumainformed support that helps individuals experiencing substance use challenges to achieve improved wellbeing strengthened recovery pathways and a renewed sense of hope.

About the role

As an AOD Practitioner (Therapeutic Day Rehabilitation Program) this is your opportunity to facilitate group programs deliver onetoone interventions and provide family support to individuals experiencing AODrelated problems. You will work as part of the Northern Victorian Alcohol and Other Drug Services (NVAODS) team contributing to a coordinated evidencebased clientcentred model of care.


Reporting to the Intensive Services Senior Practitioner this is a Fixed Term Full-time position contracted for 12 months based in Bendigo Victoria.

How you will make an impact

  • Conduct screening and intake processes to ensure clients are matched to the most appropriate treatment service including liaison with allied health and intake teams.
  • Provide case management support to clients and families in line with TSA standards and traumainformed practice models.
  • Develop and review individual treatment plans using a range of interventions that address client goals and family needs.
  • Deliver therapeutic group sessions tailored to client needs and support access to community networks advocacy and recovery supports.
  • Maintain accurate client records identify risks or service gaps document incidents and contribute to ongoing service improvement.

What you will bring

  • Bachelor of Human Services Master of Social Work or Diploma in Health or Community Services.
  • Demonstrated experience in a social service environment delivering AOD interventions and clientcentred support.
  • Understanding of AOD screening and assessment tools cooccurring conditions and traumainformed practice.
  • Working knowledge of client record systems documentation standards and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence Working with Children Check.
