About the opportunity
The Sydney Conservatorium of Music has long been the destination of choice for outstanding viola students. The strong cohort of local and international students benefits from a viola faculty that includes leading pedagogues Roger Benedict and Stuart Johnson and a vibrant string faculty that is the largest in Australia. The Sydney Conservatorium is now looking for an outstanding viola player and pedagogue to join the faculty and contribute to the culture of excellence that currently exists within the institution.
The successful candidate will be an insightful and inspiring musician with substantial performing and teaching experience at an international level and someone who is able to work collaboratively and imaginatively to ensure the institution remains a beacon of music education in addition to giving individual lessons duties will include sharing responsibility for leading a weekly viola class and also chamber music coaching and/or orchestral training.
