A reputable and growing organisation within the property sector is seeking a detail-oriented Credit Controller to join their finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. This role will provide additional support to the existing credit control function during a busy operational period.

Role Overview

The Credit Controller will be responsible for supporting the management of tenant accounts ensuring timely collections and maintaining accurate financial records. This role requires a proactive individual who is confident engaging with customers and can effectively manage outstanding debt.

You will work closely with the existing Credit Controller and broader finance team to ensure consistent cash flow and adherence to credit policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively follow up on outstanding tenant debt via phone email and written communication
• Issue chaser letters and manage ongoing collections processes
• Apply and manage late payment fees in line with company policies
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all debtor interactions
• Build and maintain professional relationships with tenants to facilitate payment resolutions
• Assist with reconciliations and general credit control administration
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve account queries efficiently

Requirements

• Proven experience in a Credit Controller or similar debtors/collections role
• Strong understanding of credit control processes and debtor management
• Confident communicator with experience handling customer conversations via phone and virtual platforms (e.g. Teams)
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
• Experience working within the property sector is advantageous
• Experience using Qube property management software is highly advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel

Additional Requirements

• Must be based in or near Table View Cape Town for ease of access to the office
• Available to start as soon as possible

Remuneration

• Market-related salary aligned with experience (benchmark aligned to internal team structure)

Contract Details

• Fixed-term contract for a period of 6 months
