• $6000 relocation allowance for suitable candidates

What we are looking for:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bushfire Risk Mitigation Officer to join our Open Space & Environment team. Youll play a crucial role in coordinating and overseeing Councils Bushfire Mitigation Strategy and planning operational activities.

What your day will look like:

• Utilising both internal and external resources to deliver prescribed burn plans
• Analysing fire history and relevant data and maintaining mapping systems
• Assisting with the development and implementation of disaster management plans
• Engaging with landowners traditional owners and other relevant parties
• Responding to customer requests and providing sound technical advice

What youll need for success:

• Experience in planning and delivering fire management programs and the ability to organise work schedules and resource requirements
• Strong knowledge of fire ecology natural area management and conservation operations
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences
• Commitment to workplace health and safety practices
• Valid class C drivers licence

Whats nice to have:

• Degree qualification (AQF 7) in environmental science fire ecology natural resource management or similar
• Level 3 Public Safety (Firefighter)
