Job Summary
Group and Team: Stormwater and Waterways Stormwater and Waterways Assets Team
Location:Council Centre
Employment status:Temporary (2 years) Part-time 0.6 FTE (3 days per week)
Classification: Municipal Officer Level 3
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $91137 per annum (Pro-rata Part-time $46.12 per hour) 13.5% superannuation
About the role
Key accountabilities include:
- Delivering waterway projects coordinating weed removal revegetation and riparian improvement works.
- Protecting and improving waterways contributing to strategies grant delivery monitoring and permit processes to support healthy riparian corridors and water quality.
- Providing advice and support responding to enquiries and working with internal teams community groups and property owners to ensure works align with environmental and safety standards.

About you
- Urban waterway and riparian management skills including rehabilitation weed control and revegetation.
- Water quality monitoring and sampling skills with the ability to interpret environmental data.
- Effective collaboration and communication skills working across technical field and community stakeholders.
- Strong decisionmaking capability applying legislation policies and strategies to practical situations.
Qualifications and Licenses:
- Diploma or Degree qualifications in the field of Environmental Science or similar field of practice
- Current Drivers Licence
- Registration to Work with Vulnerable People
- White Card
