Job Opportunity: Division Head Hematology/Oncology & Associate Medical Director
Join a nationally recognized cancer institute in Detroit Michigan as the Division Head of Hematology/Oncology. This distinguished facility is part of a $13 billion integrated academic health system dedicated to driving strategic growth research innovation and clinical excellence across its cancer programs. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing leadership and oversight within a multi-hospital cancer program enhancing both patient care and academic endeavors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide executive-level leadership and operational oversight for the Hematology/Oncology division.
- Serve as Associate Medical Director for the Cancer Service Line guiding systemwide cancer care strategy.
- Oversee a team of more than 40 full-time academic hematology/oncology physicians.
- Manage strategic oversight of over $1 billion in annual Gross Patient Revenue (GPR) for the division.
- Direct clinical academic and research programs within hematology and oncology services.
- Oversee the integration and expansion of oncology services across multiple hospitals.
- Lead the Bone Marrow Transplant Program and infusion programs.
- Collaborate on cancer research initiatives with university partners.
- Mentor early-career investigators and promote multidisciplinary collaborations.
- Maintain a clinical practice approximately 25% of the time.
Qualifications:
- Board Certified in Hematology.
- Board Certified in Medical Oncology.
- Completion of Hematology/Oncology Fellowship.
- Progressive leadership experience within an academic or large health system.
- Experience overseeing faculty clinical programs and research initiatives.
License and Certification Requirements:
- Active Michigan Medical License or willingness to obtain.
- Active DEA certification.
- ACLS and PALS certifications.
- Clean malpractice history.
