Job Description:
- Oversee and manage the delivery of medical care services within Correctional Health programs ensuring high-quality and coordinated patient care.
- Partner closely with Behavioral Health leadership to support integrated physical and mental healthcare services.
- Provide clinical leadership for adult and women s health services ensuring adherence to established clinical guidelines and identifying opportunities for quality improvement.
- Tailor communication and care delivery to meet the unique needs of patients including those with sensory limitations and aging populations.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with correctional agencies health system leadership external partners patients and their families.
- Contribute to the development implementation and evaluation of departmental goals aligned with organizational priorities.
- Lead provider teams by recruiting training mentoring and evaluating staff to ensure optimal performance and patient outcomes.
- Serve as the supervising physician for advanced practice providers and provide guidance to nursing leadership.
- Participate in teaching and training activities for residents students and clinical staff.
- Act as a key liaison between correctional healthcare providers and external services such as primary care specialty clinics emergency services and inpatient units.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare laws regulations and standards impacting correctional medical services.
- Support the creation and revision of clinical protocols policies and procedures to enhance care delivery.
- Assist in onboarding initiatives and contribute to patient education and wellness promotion programs.
- Provide oversight for quality improvement initiatives and performance management programs within correctional health services.
- Evaluate and enhance workflows staffing models and operational processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Support physician recruitment efforts and implement strategies to retain high-performing clinical staff.

- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules regulations policies laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws accreditation agency requirements and federal state and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding
Skills or Special Abilities
- Defined as a psychologist who provides services in a highly specialized area of psychological practice (i.e. child palliative pain addictions corrections etc.).
- Has had explicit training supervision and clinical experience or certification working directly in the specialty area.
- Has trained in a dedicated specialty setting. This typically means practicum internship post-doctoral training and/or fellowship with a focus on the specialty area.
- Has the breadth and depth of training to be able to provide treatment thoroughly and accurately.
- Has significant experience working with a variety of cases from start to finish to be considered competent and proficient in providing specialty treatment.
- Must possess sound and applied knowledge of the development of the symptoms being treated
- Should be trained in evidence-based specialized treatments (EBSTs).
- Prefer certification in the use these treatments
- Requires familiarity with Clinical Psychology and competency in basic psychological assessment techniques psychotherapeutic intervention family systems and developmental orientation.
- Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and possess good oral and written communication skills.
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and skill in meeting age related and handicapped patients needs.
- Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors.
- Preferred: Spanish proficiency is preferred
