Job Title: Associate Risk Manager
Primary Location: York PA (Hybrid 3 days onsite / 2 days remote)
Position Type: Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage April through August 2026)
Overview
TalentFish is casting a line for an Associate Risk Manager. This is a contract role in York PA (hybrid). The reason this position exists is to provide coverage during a maternity leave while ensuring continuity in managing professional liability claims supporting litigation activities and maintaining risk management operations within a healthcare environment.
What You Bring to the Role (Ideal Experience)
Masters degree with 5 years of professional liability claims experience OR Bachelors degree with 10 years of experience
Strong experience handling medical malpractice and professional liability claims
- Background in:
Insurance claims (highest priority)
Healthcare risk management
Litigation or paralegal work
- Experience working with:
Understanding of claims processes litigation support and risk evaluation
Experience with commercial insurance is a plus
Ability to analyze complex cases and communicate effectively with legal teams and leadership
What Youll Do (Skills Used in this Position)
Manage insurance claims and support defense counsel throughout the claims lifecycle
Evaluate risk exposure and assist with securing appropriate insurance coverage
Conduct investigations into incidents involving alleged patient or visitor injury
Participate in risk assessments such as Root Cause Analyses (RCA) PRAs and FMEAs
Review event reports and assist with patient safety investigations and regulatory considerations
Analyze litigated claims to identify trends and reduce overall litigation costs
Support development of litigation strategies in collaboration with legal counsel
Track report and communicate litigation trends and risk metrics to leadership
Coordinate with outside counsel on claims handling discovery legal costs and settlements
Review and approve legal invoices to ensure accuracy and appropriateness
Identify gather and preserve materials relevant to litigation and investigations
Develop reporting and provide updates to leadership on active and potential claims
Deliver education and guidance on risk management topics across the organization
Compensation Information
The expected salary range for this position is $80-85 per hour depending on experience and qualifications. This role also qualifies for comprehensive benefits such as health insurance 401(k) and paid time off. TalentFish is committed to pay transparency and equal opportunity.
