Position: Assistant Director of Registration & Records
Location: Athens Campus
Department: Division of Student Affairs
Reports to: Director of Registration & Records and the Vice President of Student Affairs
Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and work experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director with developing coordinating implementing and evaluating registration processes including but not limited to early owl registration returning student registration new student registration transient registration late registration and drop/add on all campuses.
- Assess diverse needs of students who use the advising services and adjust the structure of the program to address those needs.
- Assist the director with managing academic records including but not limited to transcripts faculty grade books records retention processes and document management process in compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 the Gramm-Leach-Bailey Act of 1999 other state and federal laws and the professional standards of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers and the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
- Assess the effectiveness of the academic advisement program and implement procedures to correct identified deficiencies and problems.
- Assist the Director with coordinating the archiving and storage of drop/add withdrawal grade change and other related forms.
- Assist the director with conducting degree audits on candidates for graduation and entering the information into the automated student database system.
- Oversee placement data (input and updating).
- Provide oversight of the Advising Department.
- Assist Retention Coordinator and Special Population Retention Coach with the Early Alert System which is designed to help students who are on academic probation and those who are at risk of failing.
- Assist student with advising question overrides and errors.
- Assist in semester registration reports of identify when students are misadvised or when students are taking courses outside their program of study in order to correct mistakes and to remain in compliance with federal and state financial aid procedures.
- Assist Director of Registration and Records with research and recommendations for records inquiries and complaints.
- Assist with new student online registration each semester.
- Communicate timely and accurate information to faculty staff and students on registration processes and dates.
- Work with appropriate departments to schedule faculty and current students to assist new students in completing the advisement and online registration process during new student orientation and registration.
- Assist Director of Registration and Records with evaluation of transcripts from other colleges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree.
- Two (2) years experience in student affairs or a similar postsecondary environment.
**Note: An equivalent combination of education and job specific experience that provided the knowledge experience and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.**
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Demonstrated team leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate and build strong effective working relationships across departments.
- A strong understanding of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize while meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience using Degree Works Microsoft Office and Banner student information systems.
- Knowledge of admissions advisement and registration and records procedures and systems.
