Job Summary

Job Title: Finance/Accounting Manager

Department: Accounting

Reports to: CEO

Job Summary:

The Finance/Accounting Manager will with the support of several direct reports plan and manage the accounting operations and financial reporting of the company. This includes amongst others month end closing A/P A/R finance audits cash flow forecasting bank account reconciliation (property sales franchise and use) tax registration and filing and credit insurance and credit limit management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee the operations of the Accounting Department which include accounts payable accounts receivable and staff accountants.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.

Overseeing the production of financial reports. Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles.

Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the companys performance.

Assists in the preparation of the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management.

Develop a reliable cash flow projection process and reporting mechanism that includes a minimum cash threshold to meet operating needs.

Works with external auditors and provides information for the annual audit.

Negotiates renewal of commercial company insurances.

Projects a positive image of the organization to employees customers industry and community.

Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

Proven accounting and financial skills.

Excellent communication skills particularly the ability to communicate as a leader of a small team.

Thorough understanding of management and financial practices in all areas and phases of business operations.

Excellent organizational skills confidence to develop working instructions and processes and attention to detail.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook)

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree required combined with at least 5 years of relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift and move up to 15 pounds at times.
