Integrated Logistics Support Manager

Overview and Purpose

Responsible for the planning development and execution of sustainment strategies for complex defense systems across their lifecycle. They ensure system supportability maintainability and readiness by coordinating logistics elements (supply training maintenance technical data) in compliance with DOD.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for the following: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure that all departmental processes are adhered to
  • Produce vessel specific documentation in accordance with ILS contract deliverable throughout all phases of the project.
  • Work closely with class and client to ensure all documents are approved by the correct authority.
  • Produce task specific risk analysis / permit to work and livening up notices in line with the department procedures.
  • Work closely with production and QC to establish system completion and readiness for start up.
  • Lead and coordinate a multi-disciplined team to systematically bring the vessel live.
  • Organize and setup any required test configurations ensuring all equipment required to conduct the test is onsite and available as required by the test plans and or test standards.
  • Determine if the shipboard systems are in alignment with the supporting documentation and provide red lines to the client as required.
  • Attend and participate in project meetings as required by the Program Manager.
  • Produce weekly and monthly updated reports as required by the contract deliverables and the Program Manager.
  • Evaluate clients work description and prepare work packages for the workforce to carry out the work as per the clients requirements.
  • Establish sequence and prerequisites to each of the systems commissioning phase.
  • Work closely with the planning and scheduling department to produce the integrated Master Schedule.
  • Support the estimating team with technical input as required.
  • Work effectively with others within the project Team environment and in accordance with the Integrated Master Schedule for the project.
  • Determine the level of additional support required throughout the various milestones in the project to support the activities.

Required Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree preferred.
  • Marine Engineering qualification. Chief engineer preferable.
  • Minimum of 15 years experience in the field of Marine Engineering either at sea or shipyard related.
  • Proven track record in Commissioning shipboard systems.
  • Full working knowledge of typical vessel systems

Working Conditions:

  1. Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment and be able to attend meetings at various sites within and away from the office.
  2. Mobility to climb up and down stairs as needed.
  3. Strength to lift and carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds.
  4. Vision to read printed materials and a computer screen including the ability to look at a computer screen for at least eight hours each day.
  5. Hearing and communicating in person and over the telephone.
  6. Regular exposure to all weather conditions especially hot humid and / or rainy weather combined with regular work time indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

Necessary Equipment Operation:

  1. Office equipment including telephone scanner computer printer.

Special Skills:

  • Expertise in Logistics Management Information (LMI) systems and military standards (MIL-STD
  • DAWIA Level II or III Certification in Life Cycle Logistics is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in Document creation.
  • Advanced skills with Office suite (Word Excel Power Point).
  • Maintenance and logistic management skills.
