Job Summary

The Division of Disease Controls mission is to safeguard the health of New Yorkers through identification surveillance treatment control and prevention of infectious diseases which is achieved through varied and interrelated endeavors of its seven Bureaus. The Bureau of Division Management & Systems Coordination (DMSC) leads administrative surveillance informatics preparedness policy communications community engagement and racial equity and social justice activities for the Division and guides the strategic use of Division resources to advance innovative and effective policies and programs. Reporting to the Director Programs and Strategy and working cross-functionally with programs units in DMSC as well as Disease Control program staff this staff will be supporting work that falls under ELC Grants as well as other future funding streams by providing program management support for the Division of Disease Controls work in New York City and streamlining internal processes within DMSC Surveillance and Informatics. T h e Program Manager

DUTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO:
-Plan coordinate and monitor multiple projects involving important community services across DMSC including Surveillance and Informatics by working closely with project sponsors cross-functional teams and assigned project managers to identify risks and support successful implementation
-Work closely with leadership fiscal and project management teams develop and implement a strategic programmatic roadmap and as needed provide authoritative interpretations of complex problems related to vendor-supported Surveillance and Informatics projects
-Prepare planning and reporting documents required for funding including monitoring project progress and grant spending
-Make recommendations for procedures and strategy for stakeholder engagement and vendor contracts
-Review program plans for vendor-contracted projects and monitor project deliverables progress and provide program management support for contract development amendments and invoicing
-Manage all processes including organizing meetings collecting and analyzing feedback overseeing logistics of process and manage budget and contracts
-Identify resource needs (ex: training evaluation technical assistance) and provide program management support for planning and implementation of areas of need
-Coordinate meetings among the project partners and stakeholders

PREFERRED SKILLS:
-3 years managing complex projects (with a preference for IT implementation projects) including budgeting project planning business analysis stakeholder engagement vendor management leading project meetings
-Experience managing administering and reporting to funders as part of a grantee team is highly preferred
-Excellent communication and attention to detail skills with the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects
-Ability to think creatively and be a problem solver adaptable and results driven while providing excellent organizational skills
-Project management experience preferred
-Public health experience preferred

Qualifications :

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
