About the Auckland System Management (ASM) Alliance

The ASM is an alliance between HEB Construction Fulton Hogan and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency to operate and maintain Aucklands motorway network. The Alliance is expected to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders as well as suppliers to deliver exceptional outcomes for customers using the Auckland transport system. Estimated project dates are from July 2019 to June 2028.

The Opportunity

We have a unique leadership opportunity to make your mark on a large-scale road maintenance contract leading our Delivery Excellence team. As Delivery Excellence Lead you will be part of our Alliance Leadership team playing a key role within the alliance and the successful delivery of its work.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering a variety of maintenance renewals and incident response activities on the Auckland motorway network. These teams will include Structures Stormwater Traffic Assets Pavement Maintenance and Renewals Corridor Maintenance Delivery Optimisation Transport Technology and Tunnels Network Operations Projects and Temporary Traffic Management (TTM).

As a senior leader within our organisation your primary focus will be championing a strong safety culture driving efficiency fostering staff capability and engagement continuous improvement optimal level of service high performance and value for money.

About You:

Our ideal candidate will be a passionate and driven leader with strong experience leading a large and diverse workforce. You will also have:

Tertiary qualification in Engineering or suitable experience.
Extensive knowledge understanding and practical experience managing complex maintenance delivery contracts.
Minimum 5 years experience in a leadership role.
Significant experience in road maintenance operations or related field.
Customer centric approach and proven experience in implementing customer driven work practices.
Proven experience working in a collective and collaborative leadership environment.
Strong coaching and mentoring skills that leads to enhanced staff capability.
Proficient communicator capable at producing technical data and trends.
Ability to contribute to the strategic direction of the Customer Operation leadership.
Sound financial management skills.
