Lead Mechanical Engineer

Youll be responsible for engineering and managing multi-disciplinary projects for our key and platinum customers from managing concept design costing detailed mechanical design development construction management and commissioning.

What Youll Do

• Lead medium to large projects taking responsibility for successful delivery that meets client expectations and business objectives
• Provide mechanical engineering expertise in an industrial environment including detailed mechanical and piping design development of technical specifications and drawing management
• Manage the delivery of multi discipline projects while continuing to build the confidence to lead and own future projects
• Mentor and coach junior team members supporting their development and helping the team deliver high quality outcomes for clients
• Develop and maintain client relationships to support winning and successfully delivering work
• Travel to client and project sites across NZ building hands-on experience with industrial mechanical plant.

What Youll Bring

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering(Washington Accord).
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role with approximately ten years or more of relevant industry experience
• Strong Project and Design management experience co-ordinating multi-discipline projects with a broad knowledge of other engineering disciples
• Sound technical knowledge with hygienic and pressure piping system design surge analysis pipe stress and hydraulic analysis.
• Working knowledge with PECPR requirements AS/NZS 1170 ASME B31 suite of codes or equivalent standards.
• Exposure to (or a willingness to learn) piping industry software such as AutoPIPE PIPE-FLO or similar.
• Demonstrated success in winning work
• Willingness to travel to site as required
