About the Role
Were looking for a people-centred and standards driven leader to take on the role of Aquatics Quality & Assurance Lead providing technical expertise and supporting the safe reliable and consistent operation of our aquatic facilities.
This role plays a key part in maintaining pool infrastructure minimising unplanned closures strengthening preventative maintenance planning and ensuring operational documentation is audit-ready and aligned with best practice.
While aquatics experience is valuable were equally interested in strong leaders experienced in maintenance from a relevant trade who bring a solid understanding of health and safety compliance and are ready to learn technical pool related water testing and plant maintenance.
What Youll Be Doing
- Performing and coordinating maintenance activities while supporting forward maintenance planning across sites.
- Diagnosing and fixing equipment issues.
- Leading coaching and supporting operational teams to build capability and confidence.
- Improving systems processes and documentation to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Supporting staff training inductions and ongoing competency.
- Promoting a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset.
- Providing oversight of water quality plant operations and safe work practices.
What Youll Bring
Youre a practical people-centred leader who knows how to get the best out of a team while keeping safety and quality front of mind.
Essential:
- Proven experience leading or supervising teams in an operational environment.
- The ability to identify potential issues early and address them before they develop into larger problems.
- Experience in maintenance with a trade or technical background (e.g. mechanical electrical plumbing or similar).
- Experience working with contractors and planned maintenance.
- *New Zealand Certificate in Aquatic Treatment Systems (L4).
- *Confined Space and Gas Monitoring trained.
- *Certified Handler.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and working within regulated environments.
- Ability to coach train and support staff development.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive solutions-focused approach.

Desirable:
- Experience in aquatics water treatment or similar environments.
- Experience working with contractors and planned maintenance.
- Familiarity with compliance SOPs or operational documentation.

Hours of Work
This role includes one weekend day with days of work negotiable - 40 hours a week.
