Intellectual Property & AI Litigation Associate

About the Role:

As an IP and Technology Litigation Associate you will play a key role in managing sophisticated disputes involving intellectual property rights and emerging technologies. You will collaborate with highly experienced trial lawyers and multidisciplinary teams to develop litigation strategies represent clients in complex matters and advise companies navigating rapidly evolving legal landscapes in AI and technology.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing intellectual property and technology litigation matters including disputes involving copyright trademark trade secrets false advertising and AI-related claims
  • Developing and implementing litigation and enforcement strategies for complex disputes
  • Advising clients on legal risks related to product development data usage and emerging technologies
  • Conducting legal research analysis and drafting high-quality briefs and motions
  • Managing the discovery phase of litigation including coordinating with clients and vendors on e-discovery processes
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal solutions
  • Representing clients in various forums including federal courts state courts and administrative tribunals
  • Demonstrating strong client-facing skills while collaborating effectively within litigation teams

The team handles disputes across multiple forums including federal court state court the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) the International Trade Commission (ITC) and arbitral proceedings such as UDRP.

Requirements:

  • 4 6 years of experience in AI trademark copyright false advertising and/or trade secret law including litigation
  • Strong understanding of one or more of the following:
    • The Lanham Act
    • The Copyright Act
    • The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
    • Federal and state trade secret statutes
    • Computer-access laws such as the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) and related state laws
  • Trial experience is preferred but not required
  • Ability to engage with a broad range of legal issues affecting technology companies
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Superior writing research and analytical skills
  • Strong verbal communication and client-management abilities
  • Admission to the California State Bar

Compensation and Benefits:

The expected salary range for this position is $310000 $390000 depending on qualifications experience skills and location.

Additional compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus based on firm and individual performance.
