Job Summary

As aSenior TechnicalOfficeryoullplay a vital role in shapingthe future of recycling in England and see the impact of your work every day. Working withinour Combined Packaging Regime teamyoullregulate producers who place packaging on the market ensuring they meet their legal obligations and manage their packaging waste responsibly. This work involves a balance of fieldwork and desk-based tasks soavalid full UK driving licence is essential and must be obtained prior to your application.You will:

Support and develop Regulatory Officers to become confident in their role through regular training and feedback

Support healthsafetyand wellbeing by promoting awareness and good practice in line with the Environment Agency guidance

Work with your team and wider regime to bring businesses into compliance and investigate suspected non-compliance

Carry out audits both on-site and remotely as a lead officer and as support to regulatory officers in training

Build effective relationships with businesses and stakeholders

Solve technical challenges and develop practical evidence-based solutions

Analyse complex data to support informed decision making and be able to justify decisions to your team and stakeholders

Createdevelopand improve processes and operational guidance

Ensure work is consistently delivered to required standards and service levels while reflecting best practice ways of working

Youllalso play a key role in incident response with full training and support provided as well asadditionalpayment where applicable.
