Job Summary

Waking Nights Support Worker Childrens Home

Location: Oldham

Salary: 30160 per annum

Working Hours / Shift Pattern: Waking Nights 40 hours per week working 4 10-hour shifts on a rolling rota

Service: Ofsted-regulated solo childrens home

Service Users: Solo placement supporting a young person with complex needs

Qualifications Required: Not required on entry; must be willing to work towards a relevant qualification

Experience Required: Experience supporting children or young people in care education or support settings

The Opportunity:
Our client is opening a brand-new solo childrens home in Saddleworth Oldham. This is an opportunity to join the service from the very beginning and be part of a small dedicated team focused on creating a calm structured and supportive home environment.

Working in a solo home allows staff to provide consistent focused support to one young person with complex needs. The team will play a key role in establishing routines building trust and creating a stable environment where the young person can feel safe and supported.

The Role:
As a Waking Nights Support Worker you will ensure the home remains safe calm and well managed overnight. You will carry out night-time checks maintain accurate records and be available to support the young person if required during the night. You will also contribute to effective handovers with the day team to ensure consistency and continuity of care.

The role requires a calm observant and reliable individual who can maintain professional boundaries while supporting the needs and wellbeing of a vulnerable young person.

Who we are looking for:
Individuals who are resilient calm and values-led. You will have strong safeguarding awareness clear professional boundaries and a reliable and professional approach to supporting vulnerable children and young people.

You do not hold a Full UK Driving Licence and do not have access to a car.
You only hold a Level 3 in Health & Social Care (this is not deemed equivalent).
Candidates with only HealthCare NHS CQC or Nursery Practitioner qualifications will not be considered.
You require sponsorship or are currently on a visa.
