Job Title: Grants & Major Gifts Manager
Reports To: Chief Community Relations Officer
Status: Full-Time
FLSA: Exempt
Hours: 36 Hours/Week Monday Thursday 7:00am 5:00pm (or as needed/required)
About the Department:
The Community Relations team at HELP of Southern Nevada leads the organizations fundraising marketing events communications and volunteer engagement efforts. They connect the community to HELPs mission by building strong donor and partner relationships elevating the organizations visibility and coordinating a robust volunteer platform. Their work ensures that resources awareness and community support flow to the programs serving individuals and families across Southern Nevada.
Job Summary:
The Grants & Major Gifts Manager is responsible for securing philanthropic support through grant writing grant stewardship major gifts engagement and community partnerships. This role manages a diverse portfolio of institutional funders individual donors and in-kind partners; oversees key communications functions; and supports HELPs fundraising events and holiday programs. The Manager represents HELP in the community strengthens relationships with donors and partners and ensures accurate timely reporting across multiple platforms. This position requires exceptional writing skills strong project management comfort with public-facing engagement and the ability to collaborate across departments in a fast-paced environment.
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge skills and abilities:
Grant Writing Research & Stewardship
- Research write and submit grant proposals letters of inquiry and reports.
- Maintain a comprehensive grants calendar and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Conduct ongoing research to identify new funding opportunities.
- Steward grantors through updates site visits tours and impact reporting.
- Produce videos photos and other materials needed for grant submissions.
- Track grant outcomes and collaborate with program staff to gather data.
- Maintain accurate grant records in DonorPerfect and internal files.
- Ensure compliance with all grant requirements funding restrictions and reporting obligations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audits monitoring visits and internal reviews.
- Uphold donor confidentiality and adhere to ethical fundraising standards and HELPs internal policies.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure alignment between grant budgets expenditures and reporting.
Major Gifts & Donor Engagement
- Support cultivation solicitation and stewardship of major donors and prospects.
- Maintain a donor portfolio of 75-100 donors.
- Develop and execute individualized cultivation and solicitation strategies for major donors.
- Assist with donor tours meetings and personalized stewardship touchpoints.
- Maintain timely and accurate donor records in DonorPerfect and internal files.
In-Kind Donations & Community Partnerships
- Support facilitation of in-kind donations from partners.
- Support supply drives.
- Serve as a HELP representative at community events fairs and partner activities.
Holiday Programs
- Serve as project manager for Thanksgiving and Agency/Group Toy Distribution.
- Support Turkey Drive Adopt-A-Family and other seasonal programs.
Cross Department Collaboration
- Work closely with Program Finance and Operations teams to gather data stories budgets and outcomes needed for grants donor reports and campaigns.
- Coordinate with Volunteer Services and Operations during holiday programs supply drives and community events.
- Partner with leadership to support organization-wide initiatives and strategic priorities.
Communications & Public Relations
- Ensure consistent mission-aligned messaging across all donor-facing and public-facing materials.
- Support development of communication plans content calendars and messaging frameworks for fundraising and community engagement.
- Collaborate with Communications and PR partners to elevate HELPs visibility and brand presence.
- Serve as point of contact for HELPs website developer; coordinate updates as needed.
- Create and send Constant Contact emails.
- Take and send event photos to PR firm; maintain organized photo files.
Social Media & Digital Platforms
- Provide timely grant and fundraising content to PR Firm.
- Run monthly social media reports for the Presidents Report.
- Assist with maintenance of landing pages deactivate outdated pages and troubleshoot issues in DonorPerfect.
Administrative & Cross-Departmental Support
- Build monthly Presidents Report.
- May participate in employee committees.
- Support special projects as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Experience with grant writing fundraising and donor relations.
- Comfort representing HELP at community events and speaking with donors.
- Proficiency with donor databases (DonorPerfect preferred) Google Suite and social media platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
- Valid drivers license proof of insurance and ability to travel between HELP sites and partner locations
Education:
- Bachelors degree preferred
- 3 years in related nonprofit grant writing and/or fundraising
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move items up to 20 pounds during events supply drives or holiday programs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods during events or community activities.
- Ability to travel locally between HELP sites partner locations and community events as needed.
