Reports to: Building Principal
Regular Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:30am-1pm not to exceed 29 ½ hours per week
Purpose: Lake Norman Charter (LNC) is a K-12 public charter school that provides a rigorous and comprehensive educational environment to develop students with a focus on college readiness leadership and social responsibility.
As the first point of contact for visitors to the school families staff and students the LNC Student and Family Services Representative plays a vital role in creating a warm and professional atmosphere and is the first point of call for visitors to the school parents staff and ideal candidate will be welcoming personable approachable and able to represent LNC in a professional and friendly manner in all interactions. It is essential that the person in this role is organized flexible and able to multitask in a busy school environment. Overall the role is for someone who is helpful and supportive in meeting the needs of the LNC addition to traditional receptionist responsibilities this role also includes supporting basic health-related tasks when our healthcare coordinator is not on campus making flexibility compassion and calm problem-solving skills a must. The position is also required to assist the office staff with various administrative tasks requiring a good level of IT skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Student and Family Services
- Acts as the first point of contact for the school welcoming visitors and responding to telephone and email inquiries in a helpful and constructive manner and ensuring that appropriate actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Answers phone calls in a pleasant informed manner for the purpose of providing information and creating a positive image of the district.
- Responds to inquiries for the purpose of referrals and directions as may be required.
- Receives maintains sorts and distributes mail packages and other deliveries for school.
- Assists personnel with the mailing and distribution of various documents and communication.
- Performs other clerical tasks as assigned including word processing and creating databases.
- Ensures that the reception area is kept organized and that postings are kept up-to-date.
- Maintains the Lost and Found.
- Communicates with parents regarding all aspects of school life receiving and forwarding information between parents and teachers.
- Assists administration with monthly drills (fire lockdown tornado).
- Ensures all teachers have taken attendance by 9am and enters tardies into the recordkeeping system.
- Collects and enters absence notes daily from students/parents. Maintains accurate attendance records.
- Maintains check-in and check-out procedures of students as outlined in the Student Handbook.
- Assists PTO with records for lunch distribution/absent student lunches.
- Acts as the primary point of contact for copier operations supply orders submitting and tracking service tickets and maintaining paper inventory to ensure smooth daily operations.
Health Room
- Performs duties when the healthcare coordinator is not on site.
- Assist with health room materials resources and ensuring that stock levels are maintained.
- Answers questions for staff and families for basic medical questions.
- Assesses students who are sent to the office with injuries or illness and will make contact with parents when deemed necessary.

College degree preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities
