Position Summary
Ultra Maritimes Electrical Engineering team supports development and production of cutting-edge Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) technology such as state-of-the-art sonobuoy products and advanced ASW receiver systems including sonobuoy receivers RF front-end modules and digital signal processing electronics for the U.S. Navy and other navies around the world. Youll support the requirements generation design testing transition to production documentation and release of electrical circuit card assemblies within the Electrical Engineering team.Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design and development of digital analog and/or RF circuits for cutting-edge Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) technology
Conduct studies risk assessments and design reviews to ensure compliance with technical specifications regulatory requirements and project timelines.
Use CAD software and other design tools to create schematics and wiring diagrams.
Perform simulation analysis and testing to validate and optimize electrical designs for performance reliability and manufacturability.
Use word processing presentation and other software to create design documentation and lead design reviews.
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary engineering team to integrate electrical hardware systems with overall sonobuoy architecture.
Support transition to production activities for programs completing the development phase
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers supporting their professional growth and development.
Must be able and willing to travel (10% of the time) to various UM and government test sites and supplier locations.
Required Skills:
Minimum BS Electrical Engineering and minimum 4 additional years design experience with a focus on hardware development and implementation.
Strong knowledge of analog circuit design digital circuit design power electronics RF and/or signal processing.
Experience with CAD software (e.g. Altium Designer Cadence OrCAD Multisim and/or LTspice) for schematic capture.
Experience with circuit board layout techniques and ability to provide layout requirements to ECAD support group.
Excellent problem-solving skills attention to detail and ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Must be able to obtain a US Government security clearance. Security clearances are only granted to U.S. citizens.
Strong computer skills and proficiency in MS office
Desired Skills:
Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g. SPICE PSpice LTspice Simulink LabVIEW).
Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) components and RF design
Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment during all phases of development
Programming skills in MATLAB Java and C languages
Experience with industry communication protocols
Demonstrated team player with successful communication and negotiation skills to manage conflicting and/or multiple demands including ability to present to various levels within an organization.
Strong writing skills.
Physical Requirements:
Candidate must be capable of occasional lifting of 40 pounds waist high with no assistance.
Normal finger dexterity and normal color vision.
