We are seeking an experienced Payroll Services Officer to join our national payroll function. This role is responsible for delivering accurate compliant and timely payroll outcomes for a large and diverse workforce while providing highquality support to internal and external stakeholders.

The Role

You will play a key role in processing both manual and automated payroll payments ensuring compliance with relevant awards enterprise agreements and Australian payroll legislation. This position suits someone who is detailfocused customeroriented and confident managing payroll for a large employee population.

Key Responsabilities:

Payroll Processing & Compliance

  • Process endtoend payroll for portfolios of 750 employees ensuring accuracy and ontime payments.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation including Fair Work Payroll Tax Superannuation PAYG FBT and statutory obligations.
  • Interpret and apply Awards Enterprise Agreements and Employment Contracts accurately.
  • Calculate and process termination and redundancy payments when required.
  • Process and approve payroll banking files in line with internal controls.

Employee & Stakeholder Support

  • Respond to payroll enquiries across your portfolio including salary packaging bonuses allowances and employment variations.
  • Provide clear and professional payroll advice to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support a range of employment types and complex pay scenarios.

Data Reporting & Systems

  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure payroll database integrity.
  • Maintain leave sickness accident and overtime records.
  • Produce payroll reports and insights as required by the business.
  • Work across multiple payroll and HR systems ensuring data accuracy and consistency.

Workers Compensation & Administration

  • Process Workers Compensation payments as required.
  • Maintain compliant and uptodate payroll documentation and employee files.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a payroll role.
  • Demonstrated experience processing payroll for large workforces (750 employees).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Experience interpreting Awards Enterprise Agreements and employment contracts.
  • Proficiency in large payroll systems HRIS platforms and the MS Office Suite.
  • High attention to detail with strong organisational and timemanagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service mindset with the ability to manage payroll enquiries confidently.

Desirable

  • Knowledge of salary packaging.
  • Experience working across multiple IT platforms and systems.
  • Developing knowledge of EEO principles and organisational payroll policies.
  • Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
