Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineer Contractor leads the technical design and validation of solutions supporting national financial services and external organizations. Manages technical labs ensuring environments remain current secure and ready for certification and testing activities. Develops and executes customer validation tests including detailed test plans and use cases aligned with security standards and industry best practices. Coordinates technical and end-user resources to analyze results resolve issues and implement improvements. Provides technical leadership oversees monitoring tools and leads resolution of complex customer problems. Partners across teams to drive process improvements optimize performance reduce costs and maintain compliance with standards and SLA targets.

Responsibilities:

1. Technical Design & Validation
   1. Lead design and validation of solutions.
   2. Identify gaps between current and future states; develop solutions to close those gaps.
   3. Design and execute customer validation tests including detailed test plans and use cases aligned with security and compliance standards.
2. Lab Management
   1. Oversee technical labs to maintain currency with evolving technologies.
   2. Ensure readiness for testing validation and certification activities.
3. Testing & Analysis
   1. Coordinate technical and end-user resources to execute tests and analyze results.
   2. Document findings communicate issues and provide timelines to stakeholders.
   3. Assess labor and technical skill sets required for testing activities.
4. Operational Support
   1. Implement customer-side monitoring tools.
   2. Lead operational outage events and manage complex customer problem resolution.
   3. Drive process improvement efforts for channels.
5. Performance & Standards
   1. Analyze solutions for performance and cost optimization.
   2. Develop and maintain standards; monitor SLA targets and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

Qualifications:

1. Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering MIS or related field (graduate degree preferred).
2. 5-7 years of direct technical work experience including 2 years in leadership roles within complex organizations.
3. Technical Expertise:
   1. Proficiency in PKI LDAP networking routers firewalls middleware (Sterling Connect:Direct IBM MQ SecureTransport) proxy solutions (Sterling Secure Proxy Tivoli Access Manager) and client-side technologies (Axway SecureClient).
   2. Familiarity with multiple operating systems (Windows Unix/Linux Solaris).

Skills:

1. Advanced knowledge of IT testing methodologies infrastructure and integration testing.
2. Strong understanding of project management methodologies.
3. Excellent analytical problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
4. Strong background in production systems 24/7 x 365 support
5. Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
6. Exceptional written verbal and presentation skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
