Overview
An advanced engineering organization is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to design prototype and deploy electronic systems for autonomous platforms.
This role focuses on building the electronic backbone of complex hardware systems supporting development from concept through field deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design electronic systems from schematic through PCB layout and production release.
- Support prototype bring-up testing and validation.
- Design and manage power systems including battery management and distribution.
- Collaborate with mechanical propulsion and firmware teams for system integration.
- Develop schematics BOMs and testing procedures.
- Participate in design reviews testing and performance optimization.
- Perform hands-on work including soldering wiring and debugging.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- 2 years of hands-on hardware design experience.
- Experience with PCB design tools (Altium preferred).
- Strong foundation in analog/digital circuits and power systems.
- Experience with lab tools (oscilloscopes analyzers soldering tools).
- Familiarity with embedded systems (MCUs sensors communication protocols).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in defense aerospace or robotics.
- Knowledge of military standards (MIL-STD).
- Experience with RF systems motor control or ignition systems.
- Familiarity with DFM/DFA and rugged system design.
- Experience supporting testing or manufacturing.
Additional Requirements
- Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen Green Card holder or eligible status).
- Onsite work required in NYC.
