Overview

An advanced engineering organization is seeking an Autonomy Systems Lead Engineer to architect and integrate a full autonomy stack from perception through planning and control.

This role focuses on building modular production-ready autonomous systems capable of operating reliably in real-world constrained environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and integrate full autonomy stack (perception planning control).
  • Define interfaces between sensors compute systems and control systems.
  • Build scalable modular autonomy architectures.
  • Optimize system performance (latency bandwidth compute efficiency).
  • Lead integration across hardware software and networking systems.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience building end-to-end robotic or autonomous systems.
  • Experience with frameworks such as ROS2 PX4 ArduPilot or similar.
  • Deep understanding of real-time systems and system tradeoffs.
  • Experience debugging across hardware/software boundaries.
  • Strong systems programming skills (C or Rust).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed systems or onboard/offboard architectures.
  • Experience with video streaming (RTP GStreamer).
  • Experience with embedded Linux and edge compute platforms.
  • Experience in rapid prototyping environments.

Additional Requirements

  • Must meet ITAR requirements (U.S. Citizen Green Card holder or eligible status).
  • Onsite work required in NYC.
