Administrative Support Legal/HR background
Type: In-Office Contract (Short-Term)
About Our Client
Our client is an established professional organization located in west Edmonton. They are seeking an experience administrator to support their team during a busy period of contract and bargaining negotiations/renewals.
The main function of this role is to support a specialized team responsible for reviewing and maintaining collective agreements. The successful candidate will have a high degree of accuracy professionalism and attention to detail. Experienced working in a unionized environment specifically with contracts and collective agreements is a strong asset.
Key Responsibilities
Collective Agreement Review & Reconciliation
- Review and compare multiple collective agreements and related contract documents to ensure accuracy and consistency across agreements.
- Identify discrepancies or conflicting terms and flag them for review.
Document Analysis & Consolidation
- Assist with reconciling negotiated terms from various agreements into standardized templates.
- Support preparation and organization of detailed documentation that reflects current bargaining goals and contractual language.
Administrative Support
- Provide administrative assistance related to grievance documentation including file setup tracking timelines and proofreading correspondence.
- Maintain organized records and documentation to support accurate and timely member service.
Team Collaboration & Operational Support
- Work closely with staff officers and a small support team to ensure documentation reflects accurate and current agreement language.
- Contribute to a collaborative detail-focused environment by identifying issues raising questions and helping maintain high standards of accuracy.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Post-secondary education in legal administration business administration or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working with contracts legal documentation or complex written agreements.
- Experience working with unionized environments collective agreement or labour relations processes.
Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office particularly Word with the ability to review and format detailed documents.
- Experience working with document comparison editing and version control across multiple files.
Key Competencies:
- Strong attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy when reviewing complex contractual language.
- Ability to work effectively with ambiguous instructions and interpret guidance from senior staff.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of detailed work within tight timelines.
- Good professional judgement and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently in a focused environment while collaborating with a small supportive team.
