Job Summary:
Oversees the production operations within assigned scope of responsibility for one or more of the following processes: integration assembly PC integration and configuration testing technical repair planning and quality assurance. Provides high quality cost effective and efficient service to meet current and future demands. Optimizes facilities utilization process execution and compliance with internal policies and procedures and external regulations. Provides oversight and direction for assigned team financial and operational activities.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Manages a team responsible for assembling and/or installing a variety of hardware and electronic components using state-of-the-art technology and processes.
- Oversees the integration configuration and testing of a variety of hardware operating system software and peripherals
- Plans develops and/or implements quality assurance procedures. Evaluates quality deviations to determine cause effect and corrective measures to remedy such deviations.
- Surveys customers periodically regarding accuracy of shipments quality of product efficiency of process adherence to specifications and overall customer experience.
- Ensures teams work area is well maintained and in compliance with all safety regulations and department policies including Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements.
- Responsible for ensuring equipment is safe in good repair functioning appropriately and calibrated in full compliance with required military ISO and other quality standards. Reviews the evaluation recommendation and implementation of new equipment or equipment enhancements.
- Reviews presents manages and/or contributes to a variety of statistical narrative financial regularly scheduled and ad hoc written and oral reports and presentations.
- Assesses productivity measures identifies trends and monitors department activity.
- Identifies investigates and participates in opportunities to improve processes and procedures to include various key performance metrics.

- Provides leadership and direction through managers and senior managers. Accountable for the performance and results of a major function that has cross-organizational impact and is comprised of multiple departments and/or teams.

- Decisions likely have serious impact on the overall success or failure of a function. Erroneous decisions or recommendations result in critical delays or modifications to company objectives and cause long-term harm to business operations.

- Typically 10 years including 5 years of management experience
Education and Certification(s):
- Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering Manufacturing Supply Chain Management Business Administration or a related field is required. An advanced degree (MBA or Masters in a relevant field) is preferred for additional strategic or technical depth.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
- Manufacturing/Operations Leadership: 10 years of experience in manufacturing or operations management with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g. Plant Manager Operations Director) overseeing multiple departments. Experience should include managing high-mix or complex assembly operations ideally in the electronics or server hardware manufacturing sector with full responsibility for meeting operational targets (safety quality delivery cost). Hands-on experience in an EMS/contract manufacturing environment or managing supplier-operated production sites is highly desirable.
- Process Engineering & Continuous Improvement: Strong background in leading process engineering and process improvement initiatives in a complex manufacturing environment. Proven ability to drive process development optimization and continuous improvement projects that enhance production efficiency and product quality. Demonstrated success in implementing new or improved manufacturing processes (automation tooling test methods) and supporting new product introductions (NPIs) or scale-ups to volume production.
- Technical & Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of electronics manufacturing processes and system integration workflows including PCB assembly electro-mechanical assembly product testing and hardware quality control. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g. ISO 9001 IPC ESD) and experience implementing and auditing quality management systems is required. Broad knowledge of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies for process improvement is essential as is awareness of modern high-mix production strategies (e.g. flexible manufacturing systems Industry 4.0 technologies).
- Business Acumen: Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and full P&L performance for an operations or manufacturing unit. Strong grasp of business management principles including budgeting cost control financial analysis and strategic planning and the skills to make data-driven decisions that balance cost with quality and delivery commitments. Experience building business cases for capital investments and understanding supply chain and logistics costs is beneficial.
- Language & Communication: Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is mandatory given the need to manage a Spanish-speaking workforce and collaborate with English-speaking global teams. Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to present plans and performance updates to senior leadership are required.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Proven capability to lead and align cross-functional teams and to work effectively across different cultures and organizational levels. The role demands a collaborative leader who can partner with diverse functions (engineering quality supply chain HR finance) and influence stakeholders to achieve shared objectives. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills are important for balancing the needs of the local site corporate leadership customers and suppliers.
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Advanced Degrees/Certifications: A Masters degree (MBA or MS) in a relevant field (e.g. Operations Management Industrial Engineering) is an asset providing deeper strategic and technical insight. Professional certifications such as Six Sigma Black Belt PMP or CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) are advantageous indicating formal training in process optimization and project management.
- Industry Background: Experience in server hardware manufacturing data center equipment or high-tech electronics assembly is a strong plus. Familiarity with the unique challenges of building and testing complex server systems (e.g. managing multi-layer PCBAs firmware/hardware integration thermal and power management) will be beneficial. Experience working with or within major Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers or contract manufacturing partners offers valuable perspective on supplier management and global supply chains.
- Continuous Improvement Track Record: A history of driving major process improvement or transformation projects (e.g. lean transformations factory automation implementations ERP/MES system rollouts) is highly valued. A strong grasp of modern operational excellence and process engineering best practices with the ability to implement lessons from world-class manufacturing organizations will set candidates apart.
- Regulatory & EHS Knowledge: Solid knowledge of Mexican labor laws workplace safety and environmental regulations and trade compliance (e.g. IMMEX C-TPAT) as they pertain to manufacturing operations in Mexico. Experience leading audits or certification initiatives (such as ISO 9001/14001 OSHA regulations or other industry-specific quality and safety standards) is desirable.
