Description : Seeking a skilled hands-on Vehicle Design & Integration Engineer specializing in Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) for NPIP Projects in Aerial Work platform Business. The engineer will execute the end-to-end integration of mechanical hydraulic and electrical systems ensuring that the final machine meets all performance safety and manufacturability standards. Hands-on design of components and sub-systems is a must. Position is critical for the introduction of a new range of MEWPS to cater global markets.
Specific responsibilities:
Component & Subsystem design : Concept synthesis 3D modeling and detailed 2D engineering drawings preparation for metal fabrications casting and plastic components.
Configuration Management: Develop and maintain the Combination Master and Add-Del lists to manage complex machine variants and global product configurations.
Benchmarking: Lead technical competitive analysis and benchmarking exercises to ensure industry-leading performance and feature sets.
DMU Leadership: Lead the Digital Mock-Up (DMU) process conducting comprehensive interference checks and ensuring critical assembly clearances are maintained.
Design for Excellence (DfX): Perform detailed Tolerance Stack-up analysis and conduct formal DFA (Design for Assembly) and DFS (Design for Serviceability) reviews to optimize lifecycle costs.
CAD Governance: Oversee the master 3D CAD integration ensuring subsystem models are synchronized and released according to project milestones.
Vehicle Dynamics: Execute precision calculations for Machine Center of Gravity (COG) and axle weight distribution across all boom configurations and load cases. Calculate acceleration gradeability and braking performance parameters.
Execution Tracking: Monitor and report on the status of engineering deliverables including 3D model maturity 2D drawing releases and Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy.
Prototyping & Validation: Lead the engineering support for prototype builds ensuring design intent is realized during assembly.
Standards & Compliance : Working knowledge of EN280 ANSI A92 ISO 16368.
