Job Summary
Azure Cloud VDI Engineer End User Desktop & Application Migration
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud VDI Migration
Execute end-user desktop and application migration to Azure Cloud VDI environments (e.g. Windows Virtual Desktop / Azure Virtual Desktop or equivalent).
Follow and apply the existing proven POC-based migration process to onboard desktops and applications at scale.
Participate in migration planning wave-based execution validation and post-migration stabilisation.
Application Migration & Compatibility
Assess migrate and validate end-user applications within the VDI environment.
Identify and resolve application compatibility performance and user experience issues post-migration.
Work closely with application owners and business users to ensure successful adoption.
Desktop Troubleshooting & Debugging
Perform advanced Windows desktop troubleshooting within Cloud VDI environments.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to:
Login failures user profiles and session stability
Application launch and runtime issues
Performance degradation latency or resource constraints
OS-level registry and configuration-related problems
Use structured debugging approaches to identify root causes rather than applying temporary fixes.
Troubleshooting & Operational Support
Provide hands-on troubleshooting support during and after migration phases.
Act as an escalation point for complex VDI desktop and application issues.
Ensure minimal business disruption by driving timely issue resolution.
Communication & Stakeholder Engagement (Critical)
Demonstrate exceptionally strong communication skills both written and verbal.
Clearly articulate:
Migration plans dependencies and risks
Technical issues and root causes in business understandable language
Status updates progress reports and resolution timelines
Interact confidently with:
Business users and end customers
Application teams and support groups
Programme managers and leadership stakeholders
Gather clarify and validate requirements accurately ensuring no ambiguity during migration or issue resolution.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills (Must-Have)
Hands-on experience with Azure / Cloud VDI environments.
Proven experience in end-user desktop and application migration within VDI platforms.
Strong expertise in Windows desktop OS troubleshooting and debugging (Windows 10/11 or equivalent).
Solid understanding of end-user computing profiles policies and desktop configurations in virtualised environments.
Communication & Behavioural Skills (Non Negotiable)
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and concisely.
Strong requirement clarity and stakeholder management capability.
Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Structured calm and professional approach during high-pressure migration or troubleshooting scenarios.
Coding / Scripting (Logical & Debugging Focus Only)
Working knowledge of Java Python or shell scripting.
Coding is not for development work; it is required only to:
Apply logical thinking
Write basic scripts or loops for troubleshooting validation or automation support
Analyse behaviours logs or patterns during issue diagnosis
Ability to read and understand scripts written by others is expected.
