As a leading global marine insurer Gard owns and operates a significant portfolio worldwide. Our Risk Management team plays an important role in understanding the risks and opportunities that shape our assets our strategy and our longterm resilience.
In this role you will work across the organisation to identify assess manage monitor and report risks. You will collaborate with colleagues in different functions to understand potential exposures evaluate financial impact and support effective risk mitigation and ensure that we make well-informed data driven decisions.
Data and analysis are a central part of how we work. You will use data to help measure and monitor risks in our core business activities support our internal risk capital model and contribute to identifying emerging risks and their potential implications.
Key responsibilities
- Identify assess manage monitor and report material risks that may affect Gard.
- Maintain the risk landscape and the companys risk register.
- Interpret and understand the risk and economic capital estimated in the internal risk capital model.
- Conduct risk assessments.
- Carry out scenario analysis and stress testing
- Contribute to develop and maintain risk policies procedures and frameworks.
- Monitor and follow up exposures and maintain risk limits.
- Prepare risk and solvency reports.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to gather and analyse data.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to ensure compliance.
- Provide advice and guidance on risk-related matters.
- Communicate and promote risk management across the organisation including training and presentations.
Who we are looking for
- Education in economics finance risk management or a related field and/or relevant professional experience
- Experience with marine insurance is an advantage but not required.
- Strong ability to build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues board members and external partners.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail combined with the ability to translate findings into clear insights for the bigger picture and business context.
- Interest in and good understanding of digital tools
- Proactive structured and comfortable taking initiative.
- Confident communicating in English both written and spoken.
- Experience with ICT risk management frameworks and/or digital resilience work is an advantage.
