We build a developer-first product and we are looking for a Team Lead and Staff Software Engineer to grow and guide the team behind our SDK - the surface our developer and integrator customers interact with every day.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead the SDK team currently five engineers and growing. The Zivid SDK is our developer-facing product: the APIs language wrappers packaging and tooling customers use to integrate Zivid 3D cameras into their robotics and vision systems. Your job is to keep that product excellent as we scale both as a people manager and as a hands-on senior engineer.

30% of the role is leadership - building coaching and growing the team setting technical direction and aligning SDK deliveries with company goals. The other 70% is hands-on contribution - reviewing designs writing C and Python driving difficult architecture decisions and setting the quality bar through your own work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

People leadership

• Manage and grow a team of engineers (currently 5 expanding): 1:1s performance career development hiring and day-to-day team health.
• Set clear goals and priorities for the SDK team aligned with Zivids broader product and company objectives.
• Coordinate the teams deliveries and dependencies with Product Vision Firmware Infrastructure and Production Test.
• Partner with Product Management and leadership to translate business needs into a concrete technical plan and back.
• Drive hiring and technical interviews for the team.

Hands-on engineering

• Contribute as a senior developer: design reviews high impact contributions hard bugs and mentoring by example (especially in C).
• Own SDK design decisions with the team: API design and stability wrappers data models packaging and Zivid Studio UX.
• Drive software sustainability monorepo strategy dependency management long-term maintainability and test strategy.
• Partner with the Infrastructure team on build systems CI/CD and release processes so we ship high-quality releases predictably.

WERE LOOKING FOR

• 7 years of software engineering experience with a track record of delivering production software that others depend on.
• Prior people management or formal tech-lead experience youve grown engineers and led a team through real deliveries.
• Strong hands-on skills in C and Python. Comfortable setting the bar in code review and design.
• Solid understanding of SDK / API design: stability versioning packaging and developer experience is a plus.
• Experience with modern build systems (CMake Ninja Bazel or similar) and CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions Jenkins or similar is a plus.
