Working at our Vandalia Facilities:

Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Daytonknown widely as the birthplace of aviationwhere the Wright Brothers built the worlds first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history in operation for over 100 years. At over 140000 square feet the Vandalia facility rests on 25 acres right off Interstate 75.

At GE Aerospace in Vandalia we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of military and commercial customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.

Role Overview:

The Production Supervision Manager leads and owns the daily manufacturing operation of Team Aero with an hourly workforce of 15 build associates and growing. The department is unique in that it requires the candidate to lead and facilitate cross functional teams of Engineers (design manufacturing and quality) Production Control specialists and the Program Management team to achieve product quality cost and output addition due to the multifaceted nature of the department a strong candidate must have a solid background in operations material management strategic planning and cross functional collaboration. The role also has direct customer interaction along with P&L leadership interaction.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Oversight and management of front-line manufacturing employees (approximately 15 build specialists) which involves:

  • Assuring timely resolution of issues keeping the customer advised of the progress of the program and negotiating changes variations and solutions to issues.

  • Driving a proactive culture in all categories of the business Safety/Quality/Delivery/Cost (SQDC).

  • Total ownership and prioritization of multiple lines of effort that constantly change.

  • Driving continuous improvement activities for the team and developing action plans to improve.

  • Understanding strategic priorities including how they translate down to the lowest echelon and impact tactical level operations.

  • Understanding lines of effort across all cross functional teams including the impacts and effects each one has on the others.

  • Developing strategies to achieve deliveries and overcome setbacks without delaying commitments.

  • Facilitating the need for new or modified products and managing their procurement and delivery to the floor.

  • Driving Gemba-focused problem-solving of manufacturing issues to prevent defects (SQDC).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in Operations Program Management Project Management and/or Engineering).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Operations Program Management Project Management and/or Engineering; or graduation from a GE Leadership Program.

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship status.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / project.

  • Ability to document plan market and execute programs.

  • Established project management skills.

  • Knowledge of Government contracting/terminology.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
