Fourth Grade Teacher

Fort Worth Country Day is seeking a highly qualified experienced and dynamic teacher to serve as a fourth Grade Teacher beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. Reporting to the Head of Lower School we are seeking applicants who will be actively engaged and involved beyond the classroom as a member of a family-centered independent school community.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Teaching language arts mathematics and social studies within a thematic-based curriculum that integrates the arts and technology
  • Fostering the development of the whole child by guiding and supporting the social emotional physical intellectual and ethical development of our students
  • Serving on committees and possible involvement in coaching club sponsorship and/or summer and after-school enrichment programs
  • Duties and responsibilities may also include carpool recess team lesson planning and designing grade-level projects

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Experience with differentiated instruction the reading/writing workshop flexible groupings and interactive instruction that is mindful of learning styles
  • The ability to form and maintain collaborative and supportive working relationships with their grade-level team members as well as subject specialists
  • A growth mindset
  • Strong ethical principles
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills
  • An obvious passion for teaching young children
  • The ability to adapt activities for different learning styles and abilities

Qualifications:

  • Experience in elementary education; preferably with interdisciplinary teaching
  • A Bachelors Degree or higher; Masters Degree preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Must to be to stand for up to 8 hours per day
  • Standing walking bending stooping squatting reaching lifting
